Dear Parents & Footballers,
The sun certainly did shine on the righteous as UBFC Under 8 squad continued their rampage of the Sussex 2000 six a side tournaments, this time at Buckingham Park hosted by Steyning Strikers, (04/06/00)
We declared ourselves supreme league champions of Group 3 without conceding a goal.
The over sized pitch was one of the main reasons for the diluted goal tally, but the boys did what was required by winning all their games except the game against Southdowns Rovers which ended in a nil nil draw.
We did manage to retain all the footballs at this tournament, however we did have a nervous 12 minutes with our last game when Jean Gardiner and Sandra Middleton decided to managed the boys. There was a few puzzled faces at the pre game team chat when the girls decided to 'mix it up'. With the team talk over we had to wait until late into the second half before the 'Group Three League Champions Title' was snatched
George and Mark would like to thank all the parents for their support, it means a lot to the boys and both sets of the management team.
There will be no training this coming weekend Saturday 10th June 2000.
We have, against all the odds, been accepted to play in the Lancing Ranges FC Millennium Festival 2000 Five a Side Competition on Saturday 17th June.
Would players and parents please note that we will therefore meet at the park at 08.45 on the morning of Saturday 17th June. Please note that the competition is five a side and we have to register before 09.30 am. For those of you who might travel directly to the ground, our first match is at 10.00am against Lancing Ranges (B) on pitch one. Boundstone Community College, Upper Boundstone Lane, Lancing.
