Upper Beeding 4-2 Henfield

Lee Strange should have opened the score after 3 mins when he put wide Mark Salters' cross from only 4 yds. Beeding themselves survived and early scare when Mark Skilton found Julian Durrant on the left. Durrant turned Jamie Ireson and forced Scott Redfern to save with his legs.

After 19 mins Beeding took the lead. Vic Gretton laid the ball into Gary Salters feet whose shot was turned round the post by Henfield keeper Mark Wilson. From the Mark Salter corner the Henfield defence was static as Gary Salter stooped to head the opener.

2 mins later it was 20 after Strange was pulled down in the box, Gary Salter sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty.
Beeding lost Ireson on 37 mins with a gashed head, Darren Jordan replaced the defender.

Steve Barbers short back pass on 41 mins allowed Mark Farrell to slip in the ball under Scott Redfern.
3 mins into the second half Beeding restored their two goal advantage when John Burgess found Dave Smith through the middle. Smiths run left two defenders in his wake before finding the bottom right corner with a low left foot drive.

Beeding made sure of the points when Gary Salter won the ball on the left and fed his brother Mark. His flick into the box was met by Lee Strange whose first time shot beet the keeper at his near post.
A defence error near the end between Barber and Redfern left Farrell free to accept Henfield second.
