Upper Beeding Football Club

Newsletter 17 December 2000

Dear Parents & Footballers,

Capel Youth 1 - Upper Beeding 5

With George away this weekend it was left to Mark & Sandra to rally the troops and travel north to Capel Youth FC.

Well it was quite a shock to hear that it was 'game on' in the first place. Even more of a shock when the alarm rang out at some unearthly hour before we met at the park.

It all ways amazes me where the boys get their energy from, but if the singsong in the car up to Dorking was anything to go by we were certainly in for a good game.

Not even the weather could keep the winning task force at bay as we chalked up a 5 – 1 victory against a less enthusiastic side. Some excellent passing by all the boys made this a good game to watch. It should have been more but it was good to get back in to it after such a long break between games.

Thanks for the parents for rallying around and coming up with extra pairs of gloves for the boys this certainly did help.

Well done to the 'B team' who also had an excellent game and won 1-0. The goal being scored by Lawrence from a superb pass by Jack.

Man of the match went to Chris Brownings who looked frozen during the first match but thawed out by running around non-stop in the second game.
