U14s achieved a 1-0 victory over Roffey Robins Utd to extend their unbeaten league run to 10 games in the Horsham A Division. Despite dominating possession and territory, they were indebted to their keeper Cieran Towse, who pulled off a brilliant penalty save, before striker Elliott White netted the winner with a left foot strike mid-way through the second half.
The previous week the side beat local rivals Storrington
Vipers 5-1 away thanks to a magnificent hat-trick from their skipper Joss
Knowles, plus goals from Dan Petchey and Zach Gray.
Before the bad weather came, the Under 14s started 2008 in
fine style, consolidating their third place position with a 2-0 away victory
against double-league champions and current leaders Hurstpierpoint. In a
fine team performance everyone played at or near their best, with keeper Cieran
Towse pulling off two blinding saves before Ryan Wootton put the result beyond
doubt with a breakaway goal.
24th November - The Under 14s overtook Copthorne to grab third place in Division A after
a hard fought game between the two sides ended with a 2-1 away win to Beeding.
Thomas Warren and Elliott White scored fine goals, while there was
some superb defending by Joss Knowles and Jonathan Dungay with Cieran Towse
magnificent in goal.
Thanks to a second half goal from Scott Dunkerton, the Under
14s grabbed a crucial 2-1 local derby win against Storrington Vipers, in the
process taking themselves into 4th place in Division A.
A week earlier Dan Petchey crashed in a thirty yard drive against Division
A rivals Royal United, to take his Beeding side into the quarter finals
of the Cup.
